The Harry Potter series is one that has been captivating children and families all around the world for years, spurring a lifelong love of reading and imagination. Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone is the first in J.K. Rowling’s beloved series and was first released in the UK under the title, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. Harry Potter is still a young boy when he finds out he is a wizard, being famous for his defeat of the dark wizard Voldemort as a baby. Harry finds that his parents were murdered by Voldemort and spends the next ten years of his life in a miserable home with his aunt, uncle and cousin, who don’t care for him at all. Harry is taken to a local train station by a giant called Hagrid, to take him to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
