A single mother with a wicked wit, Mrs. Adler has been inching toward the dark side ever since she was a girl growing up in a strict household. In high school she was the girl who cast spells on people she didn’t like and performed rituals to protect herself from the girl who was out to get her. Now, in her thirties, Mrs. Adler is a mother of two young and beautiful daughters who, like their mother, are always on the lookout for people who “might do harm” to them. One day, when the girls go to stay with their father, Mrs. Adler takes in a homely runaway named Sally, whose life and mysterious circumstances intrigue her.
